Classic Mohawk
Punk in style, the classic Mohawk can start at 3 inches tall and can tower 15 inches or more in height. The sides are shaved and the strip of hair in the middle is held up straight toward the sky. Use hair gel to get some lift for the shorter styles. If you want to go with a full-out 'do that's a foot tall or more, you'll have to go with craft glue or some other serious product to hold the hair up in place.
Curly Hawk
This fake Mohawk style is another version of the Faux Hawk, but for women with long hair. Set the bottom half of your hair into very tight curls or spiral twists. Smooth the hair nearest your scalp into an updo, ending in a line all along the top of your head. Use product to keep most of the fake Mohawk in place on top of your head, but allow the curls at the end of your strands to hang free. This results in a stiff Mohawk look with fluffy curls perched on top.
Fan Hawk
The faux-hawk is the most common and famous Mohawk style. This is the hairstyle used by British superstar David Beckham. This is false without the shaved head, half-eagle or an eagle on the front psychobilly The hair needs to be at least 3-4 inches long and it will be molded together to form a spiky fan look. The sides can either be shaved off or not. This is also very easy to maintain.
Faux Hawk
Fauxhawk either refers a) to the haircut worn primarily by men where their hair is gelled at the top, and the sides are short(er than the top) b) the hairstyle worn primarily by women when the sides are pinned and/or gelled back, and the longer pieces and bangs are pinned into a pompadour-looking concoction atop one’s head. c) A hairstyle in which the top layer is styled into a mohawk, without having any hair cut. Some longer-haired faux-hawk parents have really great mohawks, and still manage to keep the longer bottom layer of their hair.
